I know it is has been a couple weeks since I posted anything, but I've really been having a tough time. First we had 2 weeks of some snow, cancelling a total of 5 days of college classes and my daughter was out 6 days from 1st grade. So, having my kids and being stuck at home certainly took its toll. I also had some kind of cold during that time, so I felt like blah.
Add to this Jeff was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago with Mono, and guess what? Yep I have it now. But not only do I have Mono, I also have a sinus infection. Boy did I hit the jackpot!
Then, Jeff went up 2 weekends ago to do some touch up work (paint, caulk, cleaning, etc) to our house then the Monday after we lowered the price another $6500. And last weekend? The first weekend in a couple months that NO ONE came for a showing. All the work, the lowered price and we had less action than we've had in a long time. Very disappointing.
We are getting a nice refund check this year, and we weren't really sure why until Jeff finished the taxes up. So, we are getting the remainder of our adoption tax credit. This was part of the health care reform bill apparently. Now, while this may sound like a plus, the drawback is we now have to bump up our federal tax withholding for next year. To the tune of $1700 a MONTH! Yes you read that right. I had to go down (as did Jeff) to HR and change my W2 to reflect that we will now have $1700 less a month coming in. And well, that's about how much we lose every month on our OH house, so, when that sells, it will be sort of a swap I guess.
All in all, things are just not going well right now...

House Bound
On Monday night we got hit with a big snow/ice storm in OK (as well as about 28 other states I understand). So schools were closed Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday. And I now have official word they will be closed Friday as well. We are going stir crazy here. My car is not 4-wheel drive so I have not taken it out at all.
Jeff went into work on Wednesday and was subsequently hit by another car. Today we found out she was uninsured. She called to get insurance after the incident then called them back later lying as to the time of the accident. Pretty sure that is called insurance fraud. So, now we have to take the claim against our insurance with a collision deductible, nice!
In addition, I am battling some kind of cold/allergy something going on. Came on Monday night with phlem in the throat and now I have the coughs, sore throat and sneezes. I think I'd be much more willing to be here doing nothing if I didn't feel so lousy.
On the upside the house is completely clean, laundry is all done, even the sheets have been washed.
However, tomorrow Jeff leaves to go to Ohio. He will be there just 2 days to spruce up the house some. We so need that house to sell! Our realtor is also requesting we lower the price another $6500. At this point we're willing to do it, I guess. For the record that will be $26,400 less than the price it was when we started this process. Just about makes me want to throw up.
