Our New House

Yep, we are in it! We've stayed there 2 nights thus far.

It has been interesting as we've moved in. There are toys and books the kids haven't see in 4 months. You'd think it was Christmas the way they have been occupied with their own belongings. Makes me think we should periodically hide stuff and bring it out months later.

Also interesting has been the sheer amount of stuff! I mean, really! When did we acquire so much stuff???

So, where do we stand now? Well, pretty much all the furniture is in (except our dresser) and a (new) bookcase that was broken when we opened the box, so now needs to be exchanged for a new one. Most of the kitchen is unpacked, but I haven't yet found my pots and pans or glasses. Many (but not all) of the clothes and kids' toys are unpacked too. We still have lots of boxes in the garage to go through and I am anxious to clean the floor.

Also it is worth noting that the house is still not quite done. We have a huge amount of trash (like a trailer full) in the backyard that is overflowing onto the deck. There still remains some painting and tile work left as well.

But the 20 minute drive this morning to get the kids to daycare (as opposed to 50 min) was to die for!
